Pedestrian areaLille has a large pedestrian area where students will be able to check out small shops and cafés. Additionally, the old city called "vieux Lille" is a great area to find quaint shops with artisanal items (small Tintin figurines, tea/coffee shops and decorative items). Lille has a great variety of chocolate and candy shops but I would recommend purchasing chocolates in Bruge, Belgium instead. However, if your student wants to purchase cheaper chocolate (Lindt and other great French/Swiss brands), I suggest they do that during our shopping spree at Euralille shopping center (see below).
On the main plaza, students will also be able to visit "Le furet" , which is the largest bookstore in Europe. There, they can purchase a copy of the classic "Little Prince" or "Tintin" in French. They can also find a large variety of figurines, postcards, journals, and school supplies (including fountain pens) |
Shopping in the old city called "vieux Lille" is very tempting. Many small shops with exquisite items line up the streets.
My favorite is "Comptoir de famille" because it offers many typically French items for the home... |
Recently a Primark store has opened in the mall. It is a very popular store since October 2016! Check it out here!
